The series will be looking at three main areas (income, outgoings and savings) and, within each show, there will be a section that focuses on how the recession has affected different generations of a family and what the pros and cons of the economic recovery are likely to be. We are a friendly, half-Italian, half-British family looking for a responsible au pair to look after our 6 year old daughter and 4 year old son from the start of January 2009 until June or possibly later. We live in Brixton Hill, south London, 10 minutes walk from the high street and the train and underground stations (12 minutes to Oxford Circus). Our children are at the local school (5 minutes away), and you will have your own bedroom with DVD, TV and wireless broadband. We are looking for a female, non-smoker, with a clean driving licence and at least basic English who enjoys being with children and is reliable and fun. The job involves taking the children to school/nursery 3 days a week and taking care of them after school/nursery 2 days a week plus babysitting two nights a week (one of them a weekend night). This means cooking for the children, taking them to and from after school activities and playing with them. They love music and making models and speak and understand a little Italian (we would like them to learn more). We have a cleaner but would expect you to undertake some light housework as part of your duties.
